The Confirmation Statement (CS01)

Published on August 5, 2025
The Confirmation Statement is a document that all limited companies must file with Companies House at least once a year. It's a snapshot to confirm the company's details are correct.

A Confirmation Statement is not part of your financial accounts. It is a separate filing that confirms the information Companies House holds about your company is accurate. It's a legal requirement, and failing to file it can lead to the company being struck off the register.

What information does it confirm?

The statement confirms that details such as the following are up to date:

  • The company's registered office address.
  • The directors and their personal details.
  • The company secretary (if you have one).
  • The Persons with Significant Control (PSC).
  • The company's SIC code (what your business does).

When is it due?

Your first Confirmation Statement is usually due 12 months after your company was incorporated. After that, you must file one at least every 12 months. You can file them more frequently if you need to update your company's details. There is a small annual fee to pay to Companies House when you file.
