HMRC Assist is a new feature where HMRC sends real-time "nudges" to help you avoid common mistakes before you file.
"Direct Answer: This is a digital feedback service that analyzes your quarterly updates and compares them against other data HMRC holds (like PAYE records) to ensure accuracy.
The Logic:
• If HMRC’s data suggests you have rental income you haven't declared, then you will receive a prompt in your software to check your records.
• It also highlights reliefs or allowances you might have missed.
