If you move house, it's vital that you update your address details with HMRC. This ensures you continue to receive important correspondence like tax code notifications and reminders.

Keeping your details up to date with HMRC is your responsibility. The easiest way to change your address is via your HMRC online account.

How to do it online:

  1. Log in to your Government Gateway account.
  2. Navigate to your 'Profile and settings' section.
  3. Here you can update your main address and contact details.

Updating your address here will usually update it across all the different HMRC departments you deal with, such as Self Assessment, PAYE, and National Insurance.

If you are unable to do it online, you can also change your address by calling the relevant HMRC helpline.
